Mary Engelbreit

Ever since I was a wee child, and that was a loooonng time ago, I’ve been fascinated by details. I like studying drawings, because they all start out with a few lines, but turn into something dimensional and that’s where Mary Engelbreit rocks. She doesn’t just draw a cherry as a round, red circle with a stem, she adds shading and highlights and suddenly it pops off the page. I appreciate those details. They’re eye candy to me. Plus, I don’t know anyone else who adds all the layers of borders, flowers, dots, and simple rows of color to designs. Her artwork is worthy of many looks, just because there’s so much to take in.

What does Mary sell? Just about everything: fabric, ceramic items, greeting cards, prints, books, magnets, reading glasses, stationery, dolls, and more! Her designs are whimsical and add a touch of fun, whether it’s a soap dispenser in your bathroom or a handwritten thank you note to a friend (people still do write them!). Check out her website or the many stores that carry her products to find that special gift.
